Hello everyone! My name is Amanda. I’m a speech-language pathologist and the sole proprietor of True Communication. I received my bachelor's and master's degrees in communication sciences and disorders from California State University, Chico. While working on my degrees, I was able to intern with a local private practice, Marysville hospital, and the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) program in Durham. While I truly enjoyed all of the settings, I felt most passionate when working with children at the private practice and students in the DHH population.
After graduating, I started my journey as a speech pathologist working at a private practice in Orange County. I had wonderful mentors and gained experience working with a variety of different disorders- primarily with children, and a few adults too! Following my job at the private practice, I was offered a job in the school system working with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing population with students age 3-22. I currently have been working in the field of speech language pathology for 9 years and am ready to start the adventure of opening my own practice.
When I’m not working, you can find me hanging out with my animals (1 cat and a beautiful German Shepherd), spending time with my family, hiking, traveling in my van (my dad and I converted one as a father-daughter project!), or my newest project- trying to learn guitar! With that being said, I do truly enjoy my career and I am excited to welcome you to my practice!
